Crashed Plane in the Tropical House

Am I being oversensitive or is this really utterly tasteless?

Really utterly tasteless.

The plane also contains an enclosure for what I believe were Asian Water Dragons.

In every way, tasteless. They've done quite a good job of modernising an interesting old building; this part, though, is quite ghastly.

Perhaps I'm missing something here... why is it tasteless?

1. Really naff execution - looks like something in a cheap theme park.
2. Even if it were done "well", it's a cheesy idea.
3. Even if it weren't cheesy, there's something rather wrong about decorating a zoo cage with the remnants of a fatal accident - a mocked up car crash in the bear pit? A burnt-out minibus in the zebra paddock?
4. Even if none of this were so, what has a "crashed" "plane" got to do with lizards?

It's also very commonly done, though apart from Bristol none of the other places spring immediately to mind.

@devilfish Wow, that is definitely tasteless!

...on a side note: since the rebrand of Zoochat, the major negative has been the collapse of conversation inspired by photos, as a consequence of the loss of the "recent comments" option. The spark of discussion about this picture is a reminder of how such discussion can go. If Sim is reading this, are we any closer to the return of this invaluable navigational tool?
