I think they have switched to black rhino

Thats such a shame, they're one of my absolute favourite species, glad to hear Rotterdam still house some form of rhino species though!:)

I believe they have both species, they certainly did when I visited last year. If we go next week I will double check but both are still listed on zootierliste :)

I believe that was the plan originally, but I'm given to understand female Namaste has very specific foot problems that require intensive treatment so they decided to keep her in Rotterdam. At the moment I believe they also have a male on loan from Planckendael.

Gujrat the Planckendael male has returned to his homestead last year. Female Namaste was left behind pregnant and gave birth recently to her 7th calf (6 surviving).
