Berdmore's (Indochinese) Ground Squirrel (Menetes berdmorei)

Kaeng Krachan National Park
This is the most un-ground looking ground-squirrel I have heard of. It's really not what I picture when thinking of a ground squirrel. Cool.

(I did google it when you first posted your list of species seen in Kaeng Krachan but I hadn't heard of it prior to that).

in southeast Asia the ground squirrels are basically tree squirrels which live on the forest floor. I suspect you are more familiar with northern ground squirrels like sousliks which are quite different.

@Chlidonias Yeah, in my head when I picture what I think of as a typical ground squirrel I think of either an African (Xerus) ground squirrel or a souslik.
