A view inside the kopje in the Katanga Hill lion exhibit in Ree Park Ebeltoft Safari, Denmark. This HUGE new lion exhibit opened in 2009 and is one of the absolute best in Europe. Visitors experience the lions from a wooden walkway and some viewing windows inside the large kopje. The exhibit is one hectare or 2,5 acres in size.
The exhibit itself is located in a very elevated terrain and consists of three parts: a low-lying swamp part, a steep wooded slope and some open grassland located around a large kopje on a hilltop. Visitors pass through the kopje and lions pass above it.
The whole exhibit is adapted to the natural landscape and heavily vegetated with trees, bushes and tall grass creating a superb lion habitat.
