So another playground. Just what the zoo needs. (being sarcastic of course)
I can see it becoming one of them that make you pay a heck of a lot of money just for half an hour of play time.
Hopefully they will find a new place to put the old fountain that doesn't involve something else getting demolished.
@Water Dragon Prepare yourself for more. This is the zoo's big draw for 2017 and if they're not careful, could be the start of a shift in focus away from the animal collection.
It is just a park, the number of visitors that have kids is massive, most midweek visits by members is those with small children, keeping them entertained and so keeping the membership is great for the zoo.
I guess they will close and build a new play area on the site of the ark when they get round to redeveloping the area around the old tiger enclosure, so this will be needed.
Animals seem to come a poor second to the play areas at Paignton according to a lot of the reviews on FB. For example, someone commenting on the indoor play area said (copied and pasted):
"We have year pass and we go most weekends. I was there yesturday with my two children aged 5 and 6 and we left as it got to busy and the older children running around and shouting witch my son can't handle so we left there and had walk eould to see the animals"
If you go once a year, but most visitors go mutipul times, we go all the time, my kids loose interest if we go a lot, need the other attractions to keep them keen
