Between Tropics and Desert, April 2017

The latest developments - water is flowing, soil and some plants have been added, the fake rock has had a colour make-over. It is looking good, but I still haven't heard anything official on what's going in there.

Interesting. Is this the pair from the netted section in the corner of the tropical house?

Quite possibly. I went through that corner of the zoo 3 times. I didn't notice the laughing thrushes in the morning, but in the afternoon I saw them in this lobby aviary. Then when I went round Reptile Tropics again before I left, I was hanging around the path by the Utila iguana, photographing the birds near the feeding trays while things were quiet. I saw two different staff members looking into that corner aviary and looking puzzled; when I checked myself it seemed to be empty.
