Long-wattled umbrellabird

How many does Walsrode hold?? Very interesting species rarely seen ! Also this specimen doesn't look in fantastic condition :/

I was told it was molting as were some other cotingas in the collection. I only saw this one although I went back three times during the week

That plumage looks very interesting! Weird is that I saw the same specimen about a week before you did, though on my visit it did still have all of its crest.
Walsrode only has a single (rather old) male left, that came to the zoo from Barcelona in 2014.

The photo was taken last July or August - it will probably be the last in Europe. They had two pairs of Calf birds which was interesting
