Ethiopian Mountain Viper

In the reptile house
Missed this when you first posted it, but WOW! Certainly a much better shot than I got of the species in San Diego.

@jayjds2 I did not recall this species from San Diego, probably because I was busy being overwhelmed, and I had not heard the name before, so I made sure to take a good picture of it assuming it was rare.

@d1am0ndback there are four American holders, three (SDZ, LA, Saint Louis) with the species on exhibit. Let's just say the other is very close to home for you :P
The one I saw at San Diego was very active, but annoyingly hugging (and facing) the back wall, so all I really have is a record shot. I'll be in Saint Louis later this year, hopefully I'll get as great a shot as you did!

@jayjds2 Ah it does not surprise me either the Dallas or Fort Worth zoo has these. I have been behind the scenes in both reptile houses, and will likely be back behind them some more. I will keep an eye out for any. I'm going to guess the Dallas zoo has them because they have a lot of rare reptiles they do not exhibit (particularly venomous snakes) , similarly to the DWA.

Regarding Saint Louis don't miss out on the many many horned guan photo ops.
