Construction Work

@wayne4swfc A viewing window onto what though? Do you think they'll cut a corresponding hole in the wall behind it? I assume it is some sort of enclosure, but it is a strange shape for one.

I believe this won't actually hold any animals just a display area. @gentlelemur this is indeed, by the love-bird aviary

Very peculiar. The beginning of an access point to the future new outdoor orang area perhaps? However, it seems a bit early for that and the wooden frame doesn't look strong enough to hold orangs inside.

And I think directly behind that wall is the keepers prep area.

If it is a display area then it is a very odd place to put it. And what would they be displaying?

It might just be a new home for the lovebirds.

BTW great series of photos as usual MG.

Might it be to display plans (or a model) of the revamped orang house - perhaps with a secure collection tin for donations?

That seems quite a likely explanation.

However, if they wanted to display the plans then surely they'd just stick a picture on the wall (like they did with the snow leopards).

If it is to display a model then why is the structure so tall and long?

You could fit a lot of coins in there if it is a giant piggy bank.

The location is still quite odd. Sort of tucked around the back corner. Standing in a place where you can't actually see the enclosure. It's just not very central or populous.
