The exhibit is part of an exhibition which opened in 2011, is called "Jungleprofessorens Hytte" ("The Hut of the Jungle Professor"), and showcases the relationship between coatis and South American people (or in this case, scientists who have taken abode in the rainforest). The coatis spend most of their time in a bigger and more naturalistic exhibit, but are sometimes let into this exhibit to display how much havoc they can wreak in a human residence - in this case, a kitchen.
