This image makes it seem as if the orangutan exhibit stretches far off into the horizon. What would be even better is if the zoo built a wooden platform for the orangs (in case there isn't one) just below the window to allow for close observation of the apes.
@snowleopard If Chester had done that it would've been better when the Sumatrans were in RORA as the 2 females were hand-reared and came to the indoor windows to watch the public on a regular basis. The problem would be having a platform below the window is that the windows are higher than the boundary fence although that could be sorted with some electric wiring. The Borneans don't tend to take as much interest in the public as the Sumatrans did when in this exhibit.
The foliage has really grown up since 2015!
I disagree with snowleopard though, you can get great close-up views inside RORA, Chester is probably the only zoo I've been where the outdoor viewing actually reflects watching them in the wild: far away, with your neck cranked back and your eyes squinting.
