Baby bear comes closer

Spectacled bear paddock, Chester, 9th July 2017.
It's hard to see this little chap on the ground because the vegetation is so thick and (s)he goes everywhere at the run. However (s)he loves to climb the dead trees. Viewing is easier since the shrubs were pruned a bit and I was lucky to see him/her climbing this tree which is just beside the edge of the fence, so this was the best view possible. Arriving at the enclosure at around 10.15, when the keepers have hidden some food for the adults, seems to give the best chance of seeing all the bears.

One Zoochatter did ask if the sex of the cub was known. The answer was a boy or a girl.

Chester's website says that the cub is yet to be sexed or named (but my money's on 'Paddington'). It was born on the 11th of January.

I would put bets on either Peru, inca, Aztec, Olmec, or myan as names based on the area of origin but of course if it's a male it'll be Paddington more than likely
