two exhibits combined

July 6, 2017
There were a series of six small mammal exhibits, all very small, in a row. The bottom two, shown here, have been combined to make a single larger exhibit for fossa. (This leaves five exhibits total). The top two will eventually be combined in a similar manner (according to a keeper). The first now holds black footed cat and the second now holds Channel Island fox. The latter will receive a new exhibit in North America and the former will benefit from the joining of the two exhibits (leaving four exhibits total).

The current lineup, from top of hill to bottom:
black footed cat
Channel Island fox
Cape rock hyrax
sand cat
fossa

Only four now enclosures now. The line-up being the same minus Island Fox which, as you said, has been moved to the North American area.
