The Watering Hole is definitely a restaurant and I went inside and saw that the views from the tables are rather spectacular. The menu is upscale in comparison to the usual "zoo food" and even the washrooms must have cost a fortune as they are pristine and rather unique with their taps and long counters.
This is good to learn. I was only at the park briefly and never made it down this way. I was going by the short article they posted in the member magazine, which described it as a bar (or at least that is how I remember it).
@pachyderm pro Signs that were posted in the area included the following species: Southern White Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Fringe-Eared Oryx, Giraffe (Masai?), Thomson's Gazelle, Grant's Gazelle, Kenya Impala, East African Sitatunga, Nile Lechwe, Defassa Waterbuck, Uganda Kob, East African Crowned Crane and Yellow-Billed Stork.
