Copenhagen Zoo, March 1, 2009.
The Amur leopard exhibit at Copenhagen consists of two adjoining meshed enclosures of about 200 square meters each. Whenever possible they are opened up and thus creating a 400 square meter big enclosure. Built in the beginning of the 1970s , this exhibit is nothing special now, but way back then it was a HUGE improvement to the previously existing horror show - the old carnivore house with its awful small cages, that I remember seeing as a kid in the beginning of the 1960s. Nicely furnished with lots of climbing structures, things could be worse - but also a whole lot better, of course.
Anyway, this picture shows the big male taking a look out on the surroundings - he has a 360 degrees view when he climbs up at the top of the tallest dead tree.
This picture was not taken at dusk, but in broad daylight. My stupid cell phone camera is playing us a trick...
