New exhibits almost done

Would it be wishful thinking to say that the Madagascar portion could open by the end of this month?

Could actually happen. Although I'd say a couple of days after the end of the month.

No one will say anything but I am guessing they are trying for Labor Day weekend.

what is this? Is it an aviary? I thought on one of the older photos it was said that the netting was just an open cover (I couldn't find the photo again to re-read it), but here it looks fully enclosed.

@Chlidonias These look like the upcoming lemur exhibits.

@Chlidonias I decided to ask a "worker" some questions today. It turned out the worker was the superintendent of the whole project! He said that the stainless steel mesh was designed to cover the whole area, then the black mesh is attached at the top and dropped down to form the enclosures. In this photo, the fossa, and the ratel exhibits are on the left, the pedestrian walkway down the middle, and the lemur exhibits on the right.

@betsy Did you ask by any chance the purpose of the stainless steel mesh canopy? It does look nice to me, but it doesn't really evoke a feeling of Madagascar. At least, not until I see the documentation through photos once it does open. (And once all the plants are planted)/

He just said it was engineered this way to hold the black mesh for the exhibits. That's all I know.
