nice. I would like to see a live one of those! (The closest I've got is a recently dead one).

Easily mistaken for an earthworm.

Are they often found in flowerpots, or is that just a name given due to the size?

they are often found in flowerpots (i.e. around human habitation) - they are burrowing snakes and have been spread all around the world in this way.

Actually, their correct name is Brahminy Blind Snake, but they're better known as Flowerpot Snakes.
