Both the indoor and outdoor sea lion enclosures were the most disappointing to me during my visit; for such a large and somewhat modern zoo, I found the sea lion facilities somewhat small and outdated.

@JigerofLemuria personally I found the improvements a great success. I do struggle to think how Dolphins lived in the enclosure though!

@ajmcwhipsnade When were these improvements made? I visited back in February. But I agree, an increase of space for the animals is mostly a good idea.

@JigerofLemuria over the summer, also shows what a lick of paint can do. I would imagine when you saw it, it was looked a bit tired

@ajmcwhipsnade Yeah, it looked like a crummy public swimming pool. Looking more attentively, the reform is apparent; there seems to be more space for the sea lions.
