Tamandua Exhibit (a badly pacing anteater!)

Aug. 5th, 2014.
That poor tamandua!

It makes you wonder where this zoo is getting its stock from, as many of these animals are super species, or they would be in the right environment that is!!
Many are single animals too, very odd, the whole zoo is very odd in fact.

The captive mortality of these is so high if you don't get the care right that I'm certain it will very soon be a dead tamandua.:(

I am sure many of the animals in this incredibly poor zoo will start to show some ill-effects sooner or later.

It was a mistake of me to go to their facebook page who has avid fans who respond back to naysayers. "I think all the animals have adequate exhibits and look healthy!" I wanted to challenge some of them, but being that I have only seen photos, it wouldn't be a fair debate.

there's a distinct divide in the reviews on Tripadvisor and Yelp too. There are the "atrocity" reviews and there are the "heaven" reviews. Really weird.

To be honest the photos say it all for me, a review is really not necessary, you can clearly see several of the enclosures/cages are unsuitable for the occupants. The ungulate paddocks are ok, the mammal cages are really not.
They had a blank canvas, and they had a golden opportunity to create a great new zoo, but they did not, for whatever reasons. On the face of it, it appears that there is a lack of zoological knowledge at this zoo.
