@Newzooboy, what did you think of the Franklin Park Zoo? Did you have a chance to visit the New England Aquarium or any of the other local zoological institutions also?

I enjoyed Franklin Park........some interesting history and species, although did seem a bit of a mish-mash of stuff....with lots of space in between........it doesn't really 'flow' in the way that many zoos do..........the recent developments looked good though, if a little 'safe'. My wife commented that there seemed to be lots in single mammals, especially in the tropical house (tapir, hippo, anteater, capybara)....but this may have been the result of rotation in on-show enclosure. They obviously focus on the gorillas in there, and seem pretty successful with a large group with young.
I also visited New England Aquarium and Stone Zoo (see pictures under my media) and went on the Boston harbour whale watch trip, which was amazing.
