Contrary to what the label above says, this species (sp. stenometopon) is no longer assigned to the genus Leptobos, but is now considered to be the sole species in the genus Yakopsis.
There are many outdated signatures, info boards and reconstructions in this museum because some exhibitions have not been updated for a long time. On the other hand, some of the old reconstructions have a certain value as art objects, so these reconstructions definitely decorate the museum and should not be removed.
@Fishapod I can see that looking through the gallery... When was the last time their exhibits have been updated? Perhaps Soviet times?
I definitely see the artistic value in these illustrations and reconstructions! I do think that they should make an attempt to create more up to date ones, even if they just put them on their website or in published literature. Despite never having personally visited, the Orlov Paleontological Museum is one of my favorites. I like their exhibit design, layout, and organization!
