The african lion enclosure. Copenhagen Zoo 2009. Perhaps you should not compare the city zoo´s with those who are out in sparsely-populated areas, but I do it anyway. I would call this enclosure crap, in comparison with Katanga Hill, Ree-Park, also in Denmark.

But I am very critical of the small lion and cheetah enclosures. Because these animals are fast savanna animals, they can not become trapped in small environments. They need large spaces, and Katanga Hill Ree-Park should set an example for all zoos in the world, who have got African cats, not just lions. They do not have the chance to have a stimulating behavior in an enclosure like this, it is too small!
