In America, at least at the Los Angeles Zoo, it's common to see things like whole mice, rats, baby chicks, chickens, and maybe rabbits being fed to the predators, whether mammals, birds, or reptiles. I can even remember the zoo getting fined many years ago for catching wild ducks on the once existent large pond and feeding them to the large snakes in the reptile house. But it would probably cause a bit more protest here than the expected gasps, to see any whole carcass, larger than the above mentioned, being fed to the predators. I personally would have no problem with it if done tastefully.
