Sadly the menu is atrocious - there was literally nothing I could eat, so I left and ate in Phoenix. Your choices are a hamburger or a hot dog or nachos. There was one "southwest salad" that did not sound too appealing. Seriously. No chicken sandwich, no turkey wrap, no burritos, not fruit. It is mind boggling to me how they could build this massive new indoor cafe and have a menu offering that is worse than McDonalds or Burger King.
At least the zoo finally has an air-conditioned building to accommodate visitors. Having spent time in the state of Arizona in 2008, 2011 and 2015 I must admit that my summer adventures were almost akin to melting beneath a sweltering sun. I was always shocked to tour Phoenix Zoo as it is very much an open-air zoological garden.
