spectacled bear exhibit

January 23, 2018
I am sorry to report this exhibit has gone way downhill. It used to be quite lush with bamboo along most of the fenceline and grass throughout. Now the bamboo is gone and the grass is either gone or parched. It looks nothing like what it used to.

This exhibit certainly has gone downhill over the years and there are views of fences in all directions. In the past there has been a lot of foliage to obscure the images of metal.

Sadly the (formerly lush) maned wolf exhibit is even worse than this! It is now a barren pit. Same almost with Mexican wolf exhibit, though not quite as bad, but certainly far worse than years gone by. I was really disappointed with the state of Phoenix Zoo yesterday which was not helped by the fact that entire Desert Trail is closed (unless you pay for fake dino experience) and that the menu in the new cafe is unpalatable.
