The male lory became very excited as the keeper fed the other parrots. He performed a bouncing display on the ground and then on the perch near the aviary door (inset). When the keeper entered the aviary, the lory perched on the back of his collar while he filled their nectar bowl and spiked apple and pear halves on their hanging feeder. The keeper told me that this bird wants to dominate him.
