Does this exhibit still hold musk ox? "The Arctic Ring" complex opened last year and I'm curious whether the enclosure in the photo was developed as part of that zone or whether it is a stand-alone, separate exhibit.
It is not part of the Arctic Ring complex and was probably never intended to be. It is not a completely new exhibit - Copenhagen has held muskoxen since 1954, and I don't know if they have been living in this enclosure all the time, but they have for at least 20 years. I don't think the Arctic Ring was planned back then, though I could be wrong.
It is, however, not completely stand-alone as it is part of the Nordic-themed zone with, as mentioned, reindeer in the neighboring paddock and nearby exhibits for harbor seals, brown bears, eagle owls and wolves.
