@beccasunbear Interesting... Too bad his enclosure is so lackluster. Honestly, I'd rather the zoo only had one species of bear in that "bear area", because as of now it's quite bad...
@JigerofLemuria I agree, for me Teddy and Anabell’s enclosure is the worst in the whole zoo. I would love to see how they would be in something much more natural, enriching and visually stimulating. I guess he knows very little different, as he has lived at Madrid Zoo since he was 2 years old. It would be nice to see them develop it, but it probably won’t happen now.
@JigerofLemuria I meant more that they are both ageing now . . . it’s probably likely that they’ll wait until they no longer have sun bears and redevelop the enclosure for a different species when the time comes.
@JigerofLemuria Yes, he is a lovely bear. I would have loved to have seen them breed successfully. Teddy has a great family - his sister Josi at Münster and his brother Ernst/Adam at Jihlava who I will get to see next month. Hopefully Ernst/Adam will be the one to carry on the family bloodline! Both Teddy and Josi produced a cub each but neither survived.
