These are the type of photos that ZooChat members like myself and @Hvedekorn enjoying looking at. I hope to visit my 400th zoo this summer and so I've seen plenty of hippos slumbering away in zoo enclosures. However, each individual exhibit is unique and I've never been to Berlin Zoo and so this photo is a striking image that is something I'd love to see more of on this site. Great photo @gulogulogulo !
@snowleopard Indeed, this is the kind of the photo I was starting to miss. I've been to Berlin Zoo before, so this specific photo didn't show me anything I haven't seen with my own eyes, but it's a perfect example of what I'm generally looking for when browsing the gallery.
I enjoy that you included a lot of the hippo house in the photo and not just the enclosure, because I feel like that's important too. For example, the hippo indoor exhibit in Berlin Zoo is quite similar to the one in Copenhagen Zoo, but the hippo houses are architectonically different, and that shows the different joys of visiting different zoos.
