This is the - quite frankly disgraceful - state of the garden area that was once the floral clock.
It occurred to me that the zoo has now lost all of the areas where there were once herbaceous borders, rose gardens, seasonal bedding and hanging baskets.
In recent months the borders around Europe on the Edge have been bulldozed (despite it not being in the plan), the bee garden has suffered as the back wall was removed, the Roman Garden is being partly demolished and the beds around Oakfield House are now a building site.
Looks like the sad end for Chester as a once proud "zoological garden".
