Kongo is 46 years old. He lived in a mexican circus, where he was castrated and his canine teeth were removed. After he was confiscated and this zoo recieved him. His longtime companion, Tamba,also an ex circus chimp who suffered the same modifications as Kongo, died recently at the zoo. Tamba was 45 years old.
