Interesting combination, and a lot of space for them! Are those fish I can see in the water area too?
What are your general thoughts/impressions of the new tropical house?
@Swampy Yes, they are indeed fish, False Penguin Tetra to be specific. I was quite surprised to see that they were mixed as even the signage said that the Strawberry Dart Frogs mainly diet on Ants! Although I imagine the Frogs shouldn't be able to access the two islands which the Ants have access to. I was quite under-whelmed when I first visited the Tropical House although when I returned towards the end of the day, I did enjoy it more. I think it is a very nice addition to Marwell, and alot of what visitors and volunteers were saying was very positive. By far the best thing about the tropical house IMO was the Crocodile Monitor enclosure which I thought was fabulous. It is very different to many of the tropical houses i have seen in the past as it doesn't have many side exhibits, only the vivarium shown here, the Leaf-cutter ant exhibit and the Crocodile Monitor exhibit. My main problem with it was the signage as there was only a few tablets in the main Walk-through area which told you what species can be found through-out the house, so it was a real search to find where some of the species are kept!
