These renovated aviaries look very nice - but have they changed a great deal? They don't look to be hugely different from what was there before (a Good Thing - Krefeld's is one of my favourite Bird Houses).
Have not been in the Bird House before the renovation. My former last visit was more then 35 years ago and the Bird House opened in 1989 so don't know if the aviaries have changed a lot.
I know however that at least the lighting-system has improved a lot to provide the birds with almost natural lighting.
Looked Oke for me but because the plants / trees still have to grow quite a bit and because I don't know what is to going been kept in these aviaries, I can't say a lot. If they don't make the misstake to put to many or to large birds in it, I think it will become a nice place in the years coming ( and I have put Krefeld on my list of zoos I have to visit more regulary ( 35 years is an interval-rate which this zoo doesn't deserve ) !
