Arctic Fox

Orage never did turn very white and as you can see, now looks a mess.
I was mostly in Tundra Trek and Eurasia that day, so saw a lot of moulting.

I love when they hit this stage. It opens up great conversations with kids about camouflage and its purpose.

That's true and you also get to explain she is not sick, does not have mange, and is not a baby wolf. Also last week explained to a family that the babirusa was not the baby rhino.

Oh I have had to do the babirusa talk too. That day Bucky was a baby rhino and a hippo and a small piece of my soul died. I will give everyone a pass if they don't know what a babirusa is. I didn't until I saw one. I will give a pass if they think its any pig species. But come on how can anyone who attended kindergarten think that's a rhino or a hippo?

I have yet to see these guys yet. Gotta make some time to visit.

One of the worst misidentifying of an animal I personally heard while at the zoo was a teenage girl calling a tiger an orange bear.

I have heard a father correct his child that a tiger is a lion!
