Well, here's my teaser photo for my Galápagos/Ecuador trip. A few hints: the species is within the broad "threatened" (vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered) category on the IUCN Red List, it is endemic to the Galápagos, and it is not (as far as I know) otherwise represented in the ZooChat gallery. Happy guessing! I'll reveal the species in a few days if nobody gets it.

Some kind of booby?I only know the blue-foot but I think there is photo of it in the gallery.

Looked through the gallery and saw there are pictures of the penguins but not of the cormorants. So my guess is the Flightless Cormorant.

@Kakapo and @Swampy are correct. These are the tracks of a lava gull, the most endangered gull. They were surprisingly easy to see, and I saw about 10 my first day in the Galápagos.

Unfortunately I did not manage to see a flightless cormorant or a Galápagos penguin. Those, along with Galápagos dove and swallow-tailed gull, are probably my biggest misses. Oh well, it just means I’ll have to go back!
