Very cool species

@gentle lemur Indeed they are and the zoo has a good few of them. Didn't realize they're actually New World Quails until looking into them the other day.

That's cool. This and Nahan's Francolin being relictual Odontophoridae shows that Noah's Ark was probably a reality, because it obliterates the oft-repeated criticism of "why didn't South American animals leave any relatives along the way when they were going from Ararat to the Americas". Case closed.

Was this in the walk-through aviary? Nice species, but I don't remember seeing them.

@TZDugong They were, yes, though they were a little tough to spot. I found them in a separate enclosure near the African Crowned Eagles as well.
