Is that elephant barn a new structure that is made to look like a historic building, or is it a newly remodeled actual historic building?

The front of the building is just a facade, you can see the sides of the building look like regular concrete walls. From the article: "The barn closely resembles the Works Progress Administration (WPA)-style architecture of the iconic barn that debuted to much fanfare in the late 1930's in what was then known as the Merz Memorial Zoo."
