In December 2017, the reptile house was expanded with a building for five species of African animals. As the building has a separate entrance from the actual reptile house, and none of the species are reptiles, "reptile house" is a bit of a misnomer, but that's what the zoo calls it.
This exhibit houses meerkats and rock hyraxes. While a decent exhibit for the hyraxes, it's not optimal for the meerkats due to the floor being mostly concrete, leaving them with very few digging opportunities. The exhibit is due to be connected with an already-existing exhibit with a sand floor, though.
