Somali Ostrich. January 23, 2018. The zoo received 0.2 molybdophanes from a private collection, joining the zoo's 1.0 nominate Common Ostrich.

@lintworm I don't disagree. I didn't see the male on-exhibit, though, so maybe they're planning on getting a male Somali. Who really knows with LA.

I am trying to tidy up my life list and I was wondering if I actually saw the female Somali ostrich on December 2017. Did those individuals arrive at the zoo around the time of my visit or did I just see a female common ostrich?

Twist of events! The two girls arrived at LA in May 2017, but one has since been sent to the Dallas Zoo as of October of last year!
