@TZDugong This was my second visit (first one was in 2016 when I was visiting friends who went to school in LA) and as such I had time to take in everything a bit more. I think the zoo is pretty good, but mixed. LAIR is great and many newer parts of the zoo are quite good (RotA is just ok apart from the otter enclosure), however much of the zoo consists of older grottoes and concrete/mock rock hoofstock enclosures which I'm not a fan of. I don't hate the round houses as much as some do but some of the species exhibited in them are a bad fit. The whole children's zoo area is a bit wasted imo. Excellent collection overall, though their strengths are clearly hoofstock and reptiles.
