@Astrobird I agree. The smaller, black fence is a decent height but the big wooden fence is an eyesore and could at the very least have the top row of wood removed. Giraffes can be contained with very minimal barriers.
Admittedly this convoluted example of a viewing area is probably the worst, but the entire Halls Gap Zoo suffers from really poor design, both overall and with individual enclosures.
