The species in this photo is a Nubian ibex (Capra nubiana), this species consists of 2 subspecies, those being the Nubian ibex (Capra nubiana nubiana) and the Sinai ibex (Capra nubiana sinaitica), the former is what is kept at the Tallinn Zoo, correct me if i am wrong, but the latter is more common in captivity, especially in collections in the United States and Isreal, the main difference between the 2 taxa is the markings on their forelegs
Shirokuma, you are very lucky to have had the privelage to visit such this place with its extensive Caprinae collection
I really enjoyed seeing them especially as there aren't that many goats and sheep in British zoos. Fortunately it's not too expensive to get almost anywhere in Europe for a weekend, sometimes it is even cheaper to fly half way across Europe than it is to get a train within the UK.
The only problem I had in Tallinn was that I had forgotten my sunglasses so the bright sunshine combined with the snow was quite an ordeal, especially as I walked around the Alpinarium part of the zoo.
