Journey to Churchill - International Polar Bear Conservation Centre

July 14th, 2018.
This building contains zero live animals but instead is packed with a tremendous amount of information in regards to Polar Bears, climate change, the environment, etc., and there is a lot of reading material and informative graphics. At the same time, and this is not apparent at all when touring the building, it serves as the holding area for another trio of Polar Bear exhibits that are all rocky yet modern grottoes that look like this:

Journey to Churchill - Polar Bear Exhibit #4 (Cub Care Centre) | ZooChat

Overall, the zoo has 2 large Polar Bear 'meadow' exhibits, a smaller enclosure with a tunnel and underwater viewing, and then a trio of bear enclosures behind the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre. That makes for 6 exhibits in total but the bears are not all secluded and in fact the zoo is not afraid to put at least 6 of its 11 bears together in one of the spacious meadow habitats. Visitors can eat lunch in the Tundra Grill restaurant and watch a handful of full-grown bears amble by...what an image that would be! (I saw 3 Polar Bears together during my lunch.)
