Serval Exhibit

Does the cat have access to the grassy area at the back or is the cage the entire habitat.
Interesting photos and blog. Your stamina amazes me esp. as some of these smaller zoos look a bit grim.
 
You can see the entire space for the Serval in this photo, as these type of containment devices are called 'corn crib cages' in the USA, although this example lacks the height of other cages. On the left is a tiny covered shelter that is only a few feet wide, and then the Serval has an exhibit that it can probably walk across in about 4 seconds flat. A log, a pile of rocks and then pure cement in all directions. Brutal...and yet at Animal Haven Zoo, Roscommon Zoo, Bear Den Zoo and perhaps another facility or two, I saw Servals living in identical conditions. Some of these Wisconsin 'zoos' boggle the mind.
