Moustached Guenon at Beauval, 12/06/18

How many individuals does Beauval keep now?

@lintworm Not sure of exact numbers but there were at least three separate groups of three or more each, so definitely into double figures. One group was kept with one of the gorilla groups (guessing probably a bachelor group?).

The other answer is 'more than I'd ever seen in total before'!

@Maguari Thanks. I guess that last sentence goes for most of us, as I think there are only 5 in Europe outside of Beauval But good to know that at least some zoos still commit themselves to these beautiful monkeys (guenons in general).

I am hoping you have a lot more pictures from Beauval coming (and of neighbouring Doue + ?? coming).

@lintworm Oh, yes. CERZA and La Fleche are already uploaded - Doue, Haute-Touche and four smaller zoos still to come once I finish Beauval.

Shouldn´t there be 7 outside of Beauval? 3,0 in Munich and 2,2 in Gelsenkirchen?

@Joker1706 I thought Gelsenkirchen only had 1.1, did they receive new animals from France in the past years?

Yes, they received the breeding (?) pair from Montpellier, the remaining 3,0 from Montpellier are now in Munich.
