@Erythrogaster How many leafbirds does the zoo have? When I was at the zoo in January a keeper in the aviary in Sun Bear Forest told me the zoo only had 1.0 Golden-Fronted Leafbird and all the others were Blue-Winged Leafbird. I saw several animals spread across the zoo but all looked to be Golden-Fronted to me.

Also, do you know if these are actually Golden-Fronted with the species being split?

No blue-winged leafbirds kept at SDZ.
They have 1.1 gold fronted, 2.0 orange bellied.
Golden-fronted was split with ssp. media from sumatra being separated. All the U.S. individuals, including the LA animal are golden-fronted from mainland asia
 
The three birds at San Diego Safari Park are from Sri Lanka - insularis; the SDZ birds are from a confiscation of birds from Vietnam, so probably incompta.
