Porcupine pavilion

Built in 1901 and designed by Emile Thielens. Originally intended to house rhesus macaques. In my memory later on ring-tailed lemur lived here as well as (temporarily) red pandas. Since the early 2000's however it has been home to North American porcupines (Erethizon dorsatum).
Originally the animals were kept behind bars in this pavilion, not behind glass. At the top some of the original bars can still be seen.

Is the whole front facade of the structure fairly new? It appears that just the rear section dates from 1901 but I'm just guessing.

I think that all that has been done recently on the facade is replacing the bars with a new frame holding the glass and maybe some maller renovations to ensure the building is in a good shape. I think most of the building is much like the 1901 core, but I don't have a definitive source on that as this building doesn't seem to be featured in the photographic archives of Zoo Antwerpen.
