@UngulateNerd92 Cheeky at least it means we have a semi-decent photograph of the species in the gallery now; the one I previously used for my small carnivore thread (possibly of the same individual, as it was taken by yourself at this collection) was very poor and I can now swap it out.
@TeaLovingDave sure fair enough... Pardon the poor quality of the image, I didn't have a proper camera at the time, and my phone didn't have the best resolution...
Let me just say though that if I had a good camera at the time and I took that exact shot of this animal in a standing position, then it would have been a fantastic photograph in my opinion. Sadly though... Life does not always work out the way we would like it to...
Interestingly, the common name used for Mustela frenata latirostra in "Longevity of Mammals in Captivity; From the Living Collections of the World" by Richard Weigl is San Diego long tailed weasel. I would imagine that the type locality for this subspecies would be somewhere within San Diego County, California. This species is actually shown on the front cover of the book "San Diego County Mammal Atlas" edited by Scott Tremor, Drew Stokes, Wayne Spencer, Jay Diffendorfer, Howard Thomas, Susan Chivers, and Phillip Unity. @ThylacineAlive we were together at Anza Borrego Desert State Park when I bought that book in the park's visitor center.
According to Weigl 2005, the captive longevity record for Mustela frenata latirostra 2 years and 10 months for 0.1 at the Los Angeles Zoo May 29th 1968 until April 17th 1971.

0.1 Jaliso long tailed weasel (Mustela frenata leucoparia) lived at the Guadalajara Zoo from September 12th 1995 until December 4th of that same year. This animal was wild born in August of 1995 within the Mexican state of Jalisco.
1.0 Midwestern long tailed weasel (Mustela frenata longicauda) lived at the Philadelphia Zoo for 10 months from June 29th 1910 until May 5th 1911.
0.1 Western long tailed weasel (Mustela frenata nevadensis) lived at Utah's Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah from June 30th 1971 until its death on May 13th 1980. This aniama was wild born in Utah.
0.1 Eastern long tailed weasel (Mustela frenata noveboracensis) lived at the Philadelphia Zoo from September 6th 1934 until October 28th 1940.
1.0 Minnesota long tailed weasel (Mustela frenata spadix) lived at the Tulsa Zoo from September 8th 1979 until February 18th 1981 when it was transferred to the Brookfield Zoo and lived there until its death on September 24th 1982.
0.1 California long tailed weasel (Mustela frenata xanthogenys) lived at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo from February 12th 1974 until it was released on March 30th 1979.
