The hog deers are much smaller and solidly build, with short legs - I think you would have noticed the difference if both species were out.

Yes I know that is true for the males at least - but as I saw some images of more gracile specimens in Google, I was in doubt. Certainly all the individuals that I've seen are slender, long-legged and long-necked, so probably all were Eld's deer. Thanks for the reply!
