@DavidBrown unfortunately no, I had bad luck. On a day where my group had to split in two, the group that went snorkeling first saw one. My group, however, hiked Volcán Sierra Negra and saw many more species of finch (as well as Galapagos mockingbird and flycatcher). So while I saw more species overall, I missed one of my main target species unfortunately.
 
@DavidBrown certainly, and because of my great success on the volcano I saw every species of finch I entered the range of (for a total of 10 species). However, one of my bucket list items is seeing every species of penguin- guess I’ll just have to go back! I’m also very close to having seen every species of Galapagos tortoise, but that requires a return visit for the San Cristóbal tortoise. I suppose then that I’ll be back in the future!
